Builders out and about in the Vale of Glamorgan:

Mike Guthrie and the team are often found in all corners of the Vale, Cowbridge, Llantwit major, Penarth, Dinas powis or any of the beautiful, smaller villages that the vale of Glamorgan is so well known for. Building new houses, refurbishing old farmhouses or taking care of barn conversions. Mike will tell you as much as he likes the 'big' jobs he relishes every job as each job has it's own set of building challenges. 

'I want to leave a job proud that we have given the customer not only what they wanted but something that exceeded that expectation, then I can say it was a good day at the office'.

This is how you get to be L.A.B.C highly commended award winners and how you get nominated again and again. L.A.B.C stands for 'Local authority Building Control'. Proper craftsmen are slipping away as less companies can financially offer apprenticeships. Mike Guthrie looks for the best craftsmen and for new comers that are eager to learn. 

'It's all about pride, pride in your work, that you are proud to show what you have been working so hard at, proud that others will benefit for years to come from the fact that you were good at your craft'.

Mike says he's proud of the fact that he has a dream team of skilled craftsmen that all feel like he does about leaving behind a long standing reminder of just how skilled and proud you were.

'The people of the Vale of Glamorgan give us many opportunities to use these learned and past down crafts. Humble builders we are but I want to be remembered as a darn good builder'.
